Mannion Lawyers ("we", "us") is a law firm providing family law services to fathers across New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, as well as our professional obligations of confidentiality as legal practitioners.

What we collect

When you contact us or become a client we may collect your name, contact details, and information about your family law matter, including information about your family circumstances. We collect this directly from you — through our website forms, by phone, by email, or in person.

How we use it

We use your information to respond to your enquiry, provide legal services, manage our relationship with you, and meet our legal and professional obligations. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing without your consent.

Disclosure

Information may be disclosed to courts, other parties' representatives, barristers, and experts where necessary to conduct your matter, or where required by law. Anything you tell us in the course of seeking legal advice is also protected by legal professional privilege, which belongs to you.

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, and we retain client files in accordance with the rules applying to legal practitioners in NSW and the ACT.

Access, correction and complaints

You may request access to or correction of the personal information we hold about you, or raise a privacy concern, by contacting our office. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
